The Content Management Process can be thought of as a production line consisting of Creation and CSS Design, Management and Publication steps, all based on an underlying Repository. As with any production line, each step requires dedicated personnel and tools for highest efficiency.
The Repository component serves as the point of integration between the asset-oriented steps of Creation and Management, and the use-oriented step of Publication. It is used by the Management step to implement the storage functionality, and provides access to the assets for the Publishing step.
There are over 1,000 cms vendors in the market today. Less than 50 matter. Most CMS projects fail within 1 year and many of today's CMS vendors will be out of business in the next few years.
