After much debate, it has come our attention that house hunting SUCKS!! It’s not that the houses are bad (ok, some of them are), but it’s just depressing to look at what you can’t afford, and even more depressing looking at what you can afford.

The good thing is that Dana and I found a nice fixer-upper, and we’ll hopefully be able to fix it up over a few years and get some money out of it.

Oh yea, and I’m adding another category to the weblog: Random Thoughts. This is to give us some place to put those random thoughts that others should know.

Don’t forget, the forums are still there, however unused.

Wordpress is very very cool, and I’m searching around ye ol’ World Wide Web for some wordpress css styles to use as a base. This one is Human Condition.

So you may see some fun changes in the next few days.

I very rarely purchase books without personal recommendations from close friends. The last novels I bought were Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code , both by Dan Brown. These books came with rousing reviews from numerous people, so much so that I had to read them.

Now, I don’t read often (see never), but when I do, I take things seriously. I read the DaVinci code in 12 hours (straight, with some bathroom and food breaks), and read Angels in Demons in about three days (would have been less, but Deuce was about 2 months, so he is first priority). They are excellent reads, and I suggest that everyone read them at one time or another. Not for the controversy so much as they are good action/mystery novels.

My latest book purchase, which is the topic of this lengthy post, is America the Book: a Citizen’s Guide to Democracy Inaction.

Before this, I have never purchased a book on the date it was released. I’ve read only the first few pages, but the truth in the comedy is well worth the read. It is setup like a high school social studies text, but reads with all the ease and fun that makes The Daily Show one of the best news programs out there, even if it isn’t really news.

If you are as sick of the election hoopla as I am, pick up this book. It’s a great read and well worth the price of admission.

Yesterday was a big big day. It was Deuce’s Christening. We had about 40 people show up, and I think everyone had a very good time. I posted the new pics this morning, so feel free to browse around and comment.

Other than all that excitement, nothing happened this weeked… Dana and I are restarting the house hunting.

Well, for those of you who don’t know, Pittsburgh is getting the rest of Hurricane Ivan.. It’s not the wind, really, but the crazy rain. Low lying places around are underwater. Luckily, the third floor is nice and dry… So we are in for the night.

Earlier today, our router blew up. I’m not sure why, i’ll have to do some diagnostics later, but luckily I had an extra one hanging around (yes, I am a huge nerd, but what are you gonna do).

We also tried out Deuce’s Jeep… We think he likes it, but you be the judge.

As always, more to come soon.
