I’ve never been so nervous at work…

We are coming up on yet another big release at work.  While it’s been mostly bug fixing and such, there have been some changes to the web apps that have made me scratch a little.  In all honesty, the web stuff had been an afterthought until the end of January, and so it really hadn’t been tested in quite some time.  Plus, with all the changes to the middle tier, there were bound to be things that just didn’t work.

Today, however, was more nerve-racking than most days.  There was one conversion bug that needed fixed, but since we had released the previous version with the bug, we had to have a way to fix converted files so that they work.  I was tasked with writing that code.

Unfortunately, those changes needed to be made very deep down in our class structure.  Tonight is the code freeze for this release, and I’m sitting here changing class files deep within the structure of stuff.  Needless to say, until it get’s tested, I will be nervous.
