When it rains…

With the responsibility of “lead” developer on our current release application, I’ve started to get some of the less glamorous portions of the job. This includes spending about 2 days getting the automated build applications moved from one machine to another. What does that setup mean? Well, for one, that means installing Visual Studio 2005 (and he service packs), all of our third party components, and changing the paths on 60+ macros in our automated build script. It also involves moving some databases around, changing backup scripts, etc. It was pretty tedious, but in the end I got everything running.
We currently have 60+ bugs to fix before the end of the week, plus enhancements to code before the end of the month. That’s in addition to studying WPF and studying for the first exam in the MCPD: Enterprise Application Developer series. All in all, a busy month.
