I took and passed the 70-536 yesterday. I have to admit that it was one of the more stressful tests as far as preparation is concern. Not because of the complexity or breadth of the topics, although that was pretty tough. The problem I had was all the reviews I read about the book I was using (which I read about 2 days before the test). About half of them were ranting about the amount of errors in the book and how it does not prepare you for the test.
My response to that is the following: The book will NOT cover every piece of information you need for the test. The book does provide an excellent study guide for the exam. If you combine the book with the practice exams provided and some additional reading from the MSDN, you’ll have no problem passing the test. I will admit that the 4+ years experience I have with the .NET framework didn’t hurt either.
I’m going to take about a week off before I dive into the 70-526 (Windows Development) test.
