Pens vs. Rangers, Game 4
Published 5.01.2008 by ~mattg
First Period:
This game is playing in the Rangers favor. While the Pens were able to control a tight game at home, on the road it’s a different story. The period was pretty even as far as statistics were concerned.
0 - 0
Second Period:
The Pens have had some great chances, but Lundqvist has been excellent in goal. Jagr put one past Fleury on a nice drive to the net, and it looks like that’s all the Rangers will need.
1-0 Rangers after 2
Third Period:
There was a carry over penalty to Sykora that put the Rangers on the power play. Dubinsky converted to make it 2-0 with about 19 left to play. As I said early, this game was shaping up to favor the Rangers from the get-go. The Penguins seemed to play right into the Rangers game plan. Jagr added an empty netter to seal the deal.
3-0 Rangers
While you hate to see them lose, they’ve faced all kinds of adversity thusfar in the playoffs, but that’s never had to carry over from one game to the next. Hopefully the trip back to Pittsburgh will reignite the offense and get them playing their game, not the Rangers. Penguins took 8 penalties (excluding the Malkin misconduct), which is far too many.
